Martha S. Carey, (Nee Nuenke), 88, of Eau Claire, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at the Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was the beloved wife of the late Alvin, and a dear mother to Bonnie, Al (Pat), and Leigh. Martha was a devoted grandmother to Scott (Lori) Overstreet, and a loving great-grandmother to Jordan. She was a loving sister to Lawrence (Betty) of Escondido, CA, Louis (Florence) of Seymour, and Ruth Buchholz of Eau Claire.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Ronnie; three brothers; and a sister. \r\nFor the past sixteen years she enjoyed living with a cousin's daughter, the loving Anita Solberg.\r\nMartha was known for her devotion and love for all animals, and also was an avid gardener. She was an extraordinary cook and made the most delicious pies. Martha very much enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and kept up with local and world events. She also had fun playing cards. All in all, she was a very good friend to everyone who knew her.\r\nA private burial service for close family was held Friday, June 16, 2006, at Lutheran Church Cemetery in Eau Claire.\r\nFamily and friends of Martha are invited to a memorial brunch at the Hillside Pavilion in Mt. Simon Park, Eau Claire, on Monday, June 19, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please join us to celebrate the life of Martha.\r\n
