Martha M. McCarthy, 104, of Eau Claire died Saturday May 26, 2007, at Dove Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. She was born on September 20, 1902, to Theodore and Anna (Kerner) Krueger in Menomonie, WI.\r\nMartha married Robert L. McCarthy in 1929. During World War II, she was employed at the Eau Claire Ordnance Plant and later retired from Uniroyal.\r\nShe is survived by her daughter, Leatrice (Don) Mathison of Eau Claire; a brother, LaVern (Lois) Krueger of Chippewa Falls; and three sisters, Mildred Fry of Vadnais Heights, MN, Lillian Solberg of Elk Mound, and Phyllis Hintzman of Menomonie, many nieces and nephews.\r\nMartha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant daughter; three brothers, Edwin, Gustave and Harold Krueger; and three sisters, Emma Krueger, Elsie Buntz, and Edna Solberg.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Eau Claire with Pastor David Huber officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\n
