Obituary

Marvelyn C. Dean, 75, of Elk Mound died February 10, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was born in the Town of Preston, Trempealeau County on May 14, 1929, the daughter of Palmer and Verna Stutlien. After Marvelyn graduated from Blair High School, she attended Winona Business College.\r\nMarvelyn married Donald R. Dean on October 30, 1949, at Fagernes Lutheran Church inthe Town of Preston, Trempealeau County.\r\nShe and Donald farmed in the Town of Spring Brook for the past 50 years.\r\nMarvelyn was a member of Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church; the Elk Meadow Homemakers; and served as Secretary/Treasurer for Family Dairies U.S.A.\r\nShe is survived by her husband, Donald; six children, David of Elk Mound, John (Sharon) of Postville, Iowa, Mary of Onalaska, Paul of Menomonie, Betty (Billy) Heltne and Tom (Theresa) both of Elk Mound; seven grandchildren, Daniel Dean, Debra Zeucher, Paul J. Dean, Brittany Dean, Michael Heltne, Molly Heltne, Maria Heltne; a great grandson, Connor Dean; sister, Ida (Waylon) Kuykendahl of New Market, TN; brother, Gerald Stutlien of New Rockford, ND; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Francis Stutlien and Richard Stutlien; and her sister-in-law, Wylia Stutlien.\r\nFuneral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, Elk Mound, with Pastor Dean Brockmeier officiating. Burial will be in Fagernes Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Preston, Trempealeau County. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.\r\n
