Mary A. Austin, 80, of Eau Claire passed away on Wednesday,\r\nDecember 7, 2011, at her home.\r\n \r\n Mary was born on May 8, 1931, in Chippewa Falls, WI, to Michael\r\nand Mary Grace Dupey, where she grew up on a farm with eight\r\nbrothers and sisters.\r\n \r\n\r\nOn October 28, 1950, she married the love of her life, Floyd J.\r\nAustin, in Eau Claire, and they were blessed with four children.\r\nMary loved volunteering her time at St. James the Greater Catholic\r\nChurch, local nursing homes and was an active member of the senior\r\ncenter. She cherished spending time with her family and was very\r\nproud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Mary is survived by three children, John (Sandra) Austin of\r\nTunkhannock, PA, Thomas (Sara) Austin of Fond du Lac, WI, and Donna\r\n(David) Peterson of Eau Claire; ten grandchildren; thirteen\r\ngreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Kouba and Connie Rose; one\r\nbrother, David (Janice) Dupey; daughter-in-law, Jane Austin; and\r\nalso by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Floyd;\r\nson, James (Rita) Austin; two sisters, Fran and Pat; three\r\nbrothers, Jim, Bob and Mike.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 12,\r\n2011, at Noon, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th\r\nSt. in Eau Claire, with Father John A. Schultz officiating.Burial will be at a later date.Friends may call from Noon to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11,\r\n2011, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N.\r\nClairemont Ave., with a Public Prayer Vigil beginning at 2:30 p.m.,\r\nand also one hour prior to the Mass on Monday, at the church.Mary will be remembered for her compassion, joy of life, unique\r\nsense of humor and for sharing her delicious cookies and pies. The\r\nfamily extends their sincere appreciation to Mary's wonderful\r\nneighbors for their help and support through the years.
