Obituary

Mary Jane Cary was born to Eternal Life on December 19, 2005, at age 84 after being hospitalized for several illnesses. She was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on August 27, 1921, the daughter of John B. and Mary Ann (Beschta) Cary.\r\nMary Jane was the last local descendant of a family that had lived in the Eau Claire area since shortly after the Civil War and once operated the Cary Transfer Company.\r\nAfter graduating from St. Patrick's High School, she was employed as a secretary at the former Gillette Tire Company. During World War II, she served in the U.S. Navy WAVES. Following the war, she rejoined Gillette Tire Company and, it's successor Uniroyal where she worked in the Central Steno Department until her retirement.\r\nShe is survived by her brother Leo (Lorraine) Cary of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.\r\nMary Jane was preceded in death by her parents: and her two brothers, Ralph B. Cary and John H. Cary.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2005, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 322 Fulton St., with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. \r\nFamily requests memorials are directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church, C/O Sacred Heart of Jesus - St. Patrick Parish, 448 North Dewey St., 54703, or St. Bede Center, Priory Rd., Eau Claire,WI 54701\r\n
