Mary Jane Garnett, 92, of Eau Claire, died Monday, February 10, 2014, at Dove Healthcare-South in Eau Claire. Mary Jane was born in Eau Claire on April 20, 1921, a daughter of Thomas and Catherine (Fisher) McInnis. She attended St. Patrick's grade school and high school, graduating with the Class of 1938. Mary had worked at Northern States Power Company before her marriage to George F. Garnett on October 5, 1946, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Ann's Society. Mary Jane's family, home and Catholic faith were her joy and consolation. She will be remembered for her loving spirit and warm smile. Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 67 years, George Frederick; a daughter, Mary Anne (Randal Hunhoff) Garnett of Little Rock, AR; two sisters, Betty L. McInnis and Eileen T. Bruer, both of Eau Claire; and two brothers, Father Thomas J. McInnis of Galesville, WI, and Patrick J. McInnis of New York City, NY. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sister Catherine A. McInnis O.S.B. and Margaret "Mardie" C. McInnis. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2014, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 322 Fulton St. in Eau Claire with Father George Thayilkuzhithottu and Father Thomas McInnis officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass Friday at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral & Cremation Services is serving her family. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of Dove Healthcare-South for the compassionate care shown to Mary Jane.
