MARY A. GOLDBECK, 80, of Eau Claire, died Monday, November 24, 1997 at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation in Chippewa Falls. She was born April 11, 1917 in Ettrick, Wisconsin to Richard and Elizabeth (Fisher) Cantlon. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, receiving her honorable discharge in 1945. Mary married Leonard Goldbeck in Trempealeau on May 28, 1949. They lived in Wilton.\r\n Mary received her Masters in Education from UWEC in 1973. She taught at Wilton Elementary from 1951 before moving to Eau Claire to teach at Immaculate Conception Church School from 1968 to 1971, and then at St. James the Greater Catholic School where she retired as principal in 1982. \r\nSurvivors include two sons, Brian (Michelle) of Hong Kong,China and Scott (Karen) of Eau Claire; a daughter, Ruth (Louis) Pagani of Baltimore,MD; a grandson, Dane Goldbeck and granddaughter, Briana Goldbeck both of Eau Claire; a sister, Verda Webb of Sarasota,FL; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard in 1967; four brothers, Loryn, Jack, Sheldon and LaVerne Cantlon; three sisters, Margaret Burger, Catherine Cantlon, and Bernice Girolamo.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James the Greater Catholic Church with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of services Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Wilton on Sunday.
