Because of her enthusiasm and knowledge, she influenced many others to enjoy them as well. She began with a small flower garden many years ago that grew into a unique perennial nursery business that she operated from her home. This activity took her into flower arranging and specialized landscaping. Her interest and skill in sewing encouraged her to start a business making draperies and to teach the subject at the Eau Claire Vocational School. She also enjoyeddesigning and making quilts. Some of her quilts won regional and national recognition. Traveling was another of her passions especially in Europe. She often spoke about these activities to local groups\r\nIt was difficult for Mary to accept the necessity of giving up her independent life style when she moved to Our House LLC Memory Care in Chippewa Falls this past August. Her family especially wishes to thank Kelly Rivard and her staff for their determination and compassion in helping Mary with this change and in keeping her comfortable these past months as her health declined. \r\nMemorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, with Rev.
