Mary L. "Linda" Peterson, 89, of Oakwood Hills Retirement Center in Eau Claire, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.\r\nMary Linda was born June 23, 1919, in Galloway (Columbus), Ohio the daughter ofClarence and Lavina (Bookman) Andrews.\r\nLinda married Gordon N. Peterson on July 12, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio. They operated Peterson Construction in Garnavillo, Iowa. Gordon retired in 1977. \r\nThey moved to Eau Claire in 1993 to be back in communication with Gordon's family. He passed away in 1998.\r\nLinda was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; three brothers-in-law, Hensel, Milton, and Dennis; and three sisters-in-law, Lucille, Lorraine, and Ruby. \r\nShe is survived by four cousins, Bayard Bookman, Barbara Bookman Klein, Reynold Bookman, and Nancy Bookman Burgess; and by numerous nieces and nephews.\r\nIn life Linda enjoyed family, friends, fishing, and playing the piano.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, with Pastor Doug Markofski officiating. Burial will be in Osseo Cemetery in Sumner Township. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
