Maryann Voldsness, 89, of Chippewa Falls, formerly Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Dove Healthcare – Rutledge Home, Chippewa Falls. She was born in Eau Claire, on April 23, 1928, a daughter to Rude and Tina (Brown) Curry. She attended grade school at Black School in Seymore, and Eau Claire High School. Maryann married Francis "Buck" Newton Choate. He was killed in action in the Korean War in 1950. She then married Jerome "Jerry" M. Voldsness. Maryann worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire for 20+ years before her retirement. Maryann loved to gamble, go shopping, go for rides, and eat chocolate. She was a wonderful mother, homemaker, and a strong influence to her children, Charlotte and Francis. She will be extremely missed by many. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte (Tim Hesselschwardt) Choate; son, Francis (Debby) Choate; grandchildren, Tomara (Mitch) Purdy, Michael (Kris) Choate, Jared (Kelly) Choate; great-grandchildren, Griffin Choate and Karina Choate; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her spouses; parents; and siblings. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017, at the WEST CHAPEL location of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire, with Pastor Jim Ahlquist officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2017, and again one hour prior to the service at the WEST CHAPEL.
