MaryJane Strauss, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, at the age of 87. MaryJane was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on August 19, 1925, to Leonard E. and Elizabeth S. (Kurtz) Tibbitts. She married Donald E. Wendt in 1950 in Eau Claire and following his death she married John H. Strauss in 1983 in Eau Claire. She had resided the last four plus years at Milestone Senior Living - Memory Care. The family would like to thank them for their loving and compassionate care on her journey with Alzheimer's. The family would also like to thank the 3rd floor of the new building at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire for their wonderful care. MaryJane graduated from Eau Claire High School and went on to become a secretary in the medical field having worked for Eau Claire Clinic, Sacred Heart Hospital, and Dr. George McAfee. In her retirement she volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital in the reception area and also took shopping to an art form. MaryJane is survived by two nephews, David E. Tibbitts and Thomas S. (Shirley) Tibbitts; a niece, Susan J. (Nate Green) Colburn, all of Eau Claire; great-niece, Tara Tibbitts-Stinson (Gary Stinson) and their three daughters, Julia, Clara and Kate, all of Rice Lake, WI. She is further survived by special friends, Joan and Bob Hoth of Colfax, WI, and Helen Leipnitz of Eau Claire, WI. MaryJane was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arthur F. Tibbitts; sister-in-law, Dorothy A. Tibbitts; and her two husbands. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements. There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time, but there will be a graveside service in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
