Matthew T. Kaul, 38, of Eau Claire, died of a sudden heart attack on Tuesday, July 29, 2008. He was born on July 13, 1970, in Eau Claire, the son of Thomas and Darlene (Kelly) Kaul. Matt graduated from North High School in 1987.\r\nHe married Michelle Wendt in October 1991 in Eau Claire. They later divorced.\r\nMatt enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching football with his son, Anthony and his dad.\r\nHe was a volunteer fishing guide for the Hayward Chapter of Fishing has no Boundaries. \r\nHe had some special friends and one of them was Tom Stagliano who helped by listening and understanding Matt's mental illness. He and his family gained so much strength and help from the community support program of Eau Claire.\r\nMatt is going to be missed by all of us.\r\nMatt is survived by his son, Anthony T. Kaul of Chetek; his parents, Tom and Darlene Kaul; two sisters, Dawn (Brian) Stabenow and Sandra J. (Andrew) Anderson all of Eau Claire; five nieces, Ashley M. Freezy, Erika A. Freezy, Angela Rae Miller, Ashley L. Stabenow, and Ashley Anderson; two nephews, Adam J. Miller and Eric B. Stabenow; aunts and uncles, Daryl (Sharon) Kelly, Russell (Susan) Kaul, Ede (Terry) Strand all of Eau Claire, Joyce (Tom) Stebbing of Afton, MN, and Henry Kaul of Hawaii; great aunt, Mabel LaCosse of Eau Claire; and many cousins.\r\nHe was preceded in death by grandparents, William and Beatrice Kaul, and Donald and Marjorie Kelly; and a special aunt, Shannon (Kelly) McNish.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to the Hayward Chapter of Fishing Has No Boundaries, or "FHNB", PO Box 375, Hayward, WI 54843.\r\n
