Maurice W. Schneider, age 75, of Eau Claire, WI, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at his residence. Maurice (Morrie) was born in Eau Claire, WI, to George and Clara (Knudtson) Schneider on June 9, 1942, the 12th of 12 children. Raised in Eau Claire, WI, Morrie attended Memorial High School until he graduated in 1960. In 1963, Morrie married the love of his life Nancy Davis. Together they started a family and raised two daughters. Between working at Johnson's Printing and spending time with his family Morrie liked to watch western shows and listen to classic country music. After retiring in 1988, Morrie enjoyed playing cards, taking casino trips, and participating in the family fantasy football league, during which he loved to let you know his team was going to crush yours. Morrie lived a simple life, whether it was playing pinochle with Mary and John or watching the little ones laugh and play, if he was surrounded by loved ones, he was happy. Morrie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy; 2 children: Debbie (John) Thompson, Dana (Jeff) Kunz; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Barbara (Steve) Speckien; and many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Morrie brought love and joy to many with his unique sense of humor, goofy grin, and huge heart. This extraordinary man will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Morrie will be held at 4pm on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at the VFW 305 Reception Hall, 1300 Starr Ave, Eau Claire with Pastor Bob Friese officiating. Visitation will be held at the Reception Hall from 3pm until the time of service. You left us too soon but we can still feel your love surrounding us. We will carry you in our hearts always.
