Mavis E. (Kins) Perry, age 80 of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013, at Grace Woodlands Assisted Living in Eau Claire. She was born to Abner and Ada (Gates) Kins on January 22, 1933, in the township of Mondovi, WI. Mavis married James H. Perry, Jr. on July 3, 1954, in Mondovi. She worked in the Mondovi High School office and later worked as a bookkeeper for Leath Furniture in Eau Claire. Mavis was devoted to her Lord. She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire and served on their Altar Committee and funeral lunches. She also taught Sunday School, VBS and volunteered in the church office. Mavis was preceded in death by her husband, James in 1994; and her parents. Funeral Service will be at 11AM on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave., Eau Claire, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Pastors Amy J. Odgren and Lowell Halvorson will be officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the First Lutheran Foundation, 1005 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire WI, 54703.
