Maxine F. Muldoon, age 92, of Eau Claire passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Oak Gardens Place in Altoona, WI, surrounded by her family and under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice. Maxine was born in Marshfield, WI, on September 27, 1923, to Michael E. and Florence (Falk) Adler. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1941. After high school, she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital as an aide. Maxine moved to Eau Claire in 1949 and began working for M & L Motor Supply. She later worked at Benson Optical during which time she met her husband, J. Frank Muldoon, on a blind date set up by the pharmacist after Frank spotted her in the pharmacy while she was buying a bag of peanuts! Frank and Maxine dated three months and married on January 10, 1952, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Eau Claire. They were married for 47 wonderful years. Together they raised two children, John and Kathleen. Maxine was the accountant and seamstress for Muldoon's Men's Wear for several years. Frank and Maxine were active members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years. They joined Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in 1984, after moving to Eau Claire's south side. Maxine is survived by her son, John (Roxanne) Muldoon; daughter, Kathleen (Kent) Kattestad, both of Eau Claire, WI; granddaughters, Peggy (Daniel) Goshaw, of Maple Grove, MN, and Kelly (Nathan) Quade, of Eau Claire, WI; great-grandchildren, Devin, Cullen, and Teagan Goshaw, Dawson, Savannah, and Tanner Quade; two step-grandchildren, Lisa (Lyle) Hackler, of Chippewa Falls, WI, and Steven (Toni) Kattestad of Kimberly, WI; as well as four step-great-grandchildren, Kelsey Hackler, Austin and Joshua, and Sophia Kattestad. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews; her special friend, Eleanor Severson; and her cat, Bootsie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. Frank Muldoon in 1999; an infant daughter, Margaret Mary; an infant sister, Margaret; sister, Lucille (Clement) Stashek and sister, Patricia Adler who died on February 28, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Ave. in Eau Claire, with Father Donald Meuret officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. Inurnment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Eau Claire. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Oak Gardens Place, St. Joseph's Hospice, and staff at the Eau Claire Heart Institute for their excellent care of Mom. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Joseph's Hospice or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
