Melva F. Ingli, 88, Eau Claire died on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at Luther Hospital.She was born March 31, 1921, in the Town of Salem, Pierce County, WI, the daughter of Edward and Hazel (Marten) Kopp. She graduated from Plum City High School in 1939. \r\nMelva married Gordon H. Ingli on July 12, 1939, in Iowa.\r\nThey owned and operated a tavern in Plum City for several years, and then a grocery store in Menomonie. They moved to Eau Claire in 1951. Melva worked at the Commercial Hotel and at Gould Manufacturing until her retirement. \r\nMom loved to laugh, dance, and travel. Her theme song could have been "On the Road Again". She was happiest when traveling and visiting friends across the country.\r\nShe was a member of Lake St. United Methodist Church. \r\nMelva is survived by her two daughters, Judy (Allen) Spindler, of Eau Claire and Joette (Jimmy) Otto of Inez, TX; four grandchildren, Carolyn (Dan) Poepping, Scott (Tammy) Spindler and Amy Jo (John Henning) Spindler, all of Eau Claire and Melanie (Nate) Newell of Pearland, TX; five great-grandchildren, Jessica O'Mara, Kalib Spindler, Lucas Spindler, Maya and Madeline Newell; two great-great grandchildren, Amy Jo Marum, and Ryan O'Mara Jr.; two step-great grandchildren, Angela and Nicole Poepping; two step great-great grandchildren, Hailey and Lilly Poepping; her brother, Max Kopp of Plum City; many nieces and nephews; and her very very best friend and traveling buddy Elmer Backstrom of Fall Creek, and his family who made Mom feel like part of their family.\r\nShe was preceded in death by Gordon her husband of 35 years; her parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law; George and Mabel Ingli; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Kopp and Fay Ingli; and brother-in-law, Lowell Ingli.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, with Rev. Cathy L. Hamblin officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington.
