Obituary

Michael D. Harryman, 57, of Altoona died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. He was born in Van Nuys, California on March 10, 1950, the son of Darrell and Gwendolyn (Smith) Harryman. Mike moved with his family to Clive, IA in 1955, graduating from Valley High School in West Des Moines in 1968.\r\nHe worked 25 years for AT&T starting in Des Moines, IA in 1968. Mike transferred to Eau Claire, WI with AT&T in 1988. He later worked for MCL Management and recently retired from Hutchinson Technology due to his health.\r\nMike married Cindy Thompson in Altoona on September 21, 1990.\r\nHe was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, and had been an active member and past president of the Brittany Kennel Club in Iowa. Mike raised and trained Tennessee Walking horses.\r\nMike loved to cook, entertain and spend time with family and friends. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Twins fan.\r\nMike is survived by his wife, Cindy; four sons, Michael (Kelley) Harryman Jr. and Bradley (Jill) Harryman both of Des Moines, IA, Logan Harryman and Landon Harryman both at home; four granddaughters, Aleigha, Jessica, Erin and Abby; six brothers and sisters, Kathleen (Rex) Wolfe of Cumming, IA, Leslie (Sandy) Harryman of Harrisburg, MO, Robyn (Dave) Leete of Des Moines, IA, John (Toni) Harryman of Norwalk, IA, Mary (Bob) Spain and Brian (Joan) Harryman both of West Des Moines, IA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Delores Thompson of Altoona; six brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Steven (Rhonda) Thompson of Eau Claire, Jim Thompson of Albuquerque, NM, Sue (Mike Endreson) Pecor of Altoona, Jon (Michelle Schultz) Thompson, David (Brenda) Thompson and Lisa (Jay) Johnson all of Fall Creek; many nieces and nephews; and his close personal friend, Wayne (Beth) Johnson of Eau Claire.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and a niece, Mollie Spain. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2007, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Eau Claire with Rev. Thomas W. Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to the Altoona High School Football Program, Altoona High School, 711 7th W., Altoona, WI 54720.\r\n \r\n
