O'Brien-McCarthy, 57, of Eau Claire, died\r\nTuesday, June 14, 2011, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nShe was born in Eau Claire on December 31, 1953 to John and\r\nEmogene (Zielie) O'Brien. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMichele graduated from Memorial High School in 1972 and\r\njoined the U.S. Marine Corps. She worked her way up to Corporal rank, and was\r\nhonorably discharged in 1978.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nShe married Michael McCarthy on September 12, 1982 at St.\r\nPatrick's Catholic Church in Eau Claire. Together they had 3 sons.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMichele worked in food service for 15+ years at Luther\r\nHospital. She loved cooking, reading, gardening, and outdoor activities.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her husband, Michael; sons, Sean\r\n(Rebecca), Patrick, and Kevin McCarthy; grandsons, Michael and Morgan McCarthy;\r\nfather, John E. (Marge) O'Brien; sisters, Sue (Spencer) Grover, Kathy Gaster,\r\nMari (King) Cook; brothers, Mike (Paula) and John O'Brien; step-brothers, Jim\r\n(Julia) Woodford and Joe (Tracy) Woodford; and many nieces, nephews, and\r\ncousins. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her mother, Emogene O'Brien;\r\nsisters, Renie Giacona and Colleen Tafel. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday,\r\nJune 20, 2011 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 322 Fulton St. in Eau Claire with\r\nMsgr. Edmund Klimek officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic\r\nCemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the\r\nchurch.
