Obituary

Mildred C. Jackson, 89, of Eau Claire died Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born on December 16, 1913, in the Town of Elk Mound, the daughter of Ludvig and Anna (Benson) Nelson. She attended the Elk Mound schools graduating from Elk Mound High School.\r\nMildred married Robert E. Jackson in Elk Mound on August 29, 1939. She worked for a time as a salesclerk at Aunty Johnson's Grocery Store on Water Street. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and of Sons of Norway Lodge No. 5-029. \r\nSurvivors include two brothers, Alfred Nelson of Chesterton, ID, and Gilman (Dolores) Nelson of Elk Mound; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Nelson of Elk Mound; and many nieces and nephews including Mary (Tom) Larson of Colfax.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert in 1993; two brothers, Emil and Ernest Nelson; and two sisters-in-law, Vera and Marion Nelson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2003 at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew E. Boe officiating. Burial will be in Barum Cemetery, Town of Elk Mound. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.
