MILDRED M. MARS, 93, formerly of 2237 Roy St., Eau Claire, died Wednesday, August 13, 1997 at Estelline Care Center in Estelline,South Dakota.She was born December 16, 1903 in Wilmington, Delaware to Theodore and Bertha (Domras) LeDue. As a young girl, Mildred moved with her family to Eau Claire where she grew up and received her education. She married Earl H. Mars at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire on October 7, 1922. During World War II, Mildred worked at the Eau Claire Ordinance Plant, subsequently she worked in retail sales with ladies apparel for many years at Samuelson's, The Fashion Store and Hughes Apparel until her retirement in 1967.\r\nShe was a life long member of the Lutheran Church, for many years at Grace Lutheran Church and then almost from its inception at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.\r\nSurvivors include two sons, James (Marlene) of Mpls,MN and Howard (Audrey) of Estelline,SD; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Strang of Ottawa,Ontario,Canada; several nieces and nephews.\r\nMildred was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; a son, Eugene; grandson, Paul; a brother, Elwood LeDue; two sisters, Bertha Fleming and Evelyn Walters.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor Cynthia A. Crane officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
