MILDRED A. REDMAN, 92, of 1121 Vine St., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, October 7, 1999 at home. She was born in Eau Claire on December 27, 1906 to Arthur and Julia (Christenson) Johnson. Mildred married George W. Redman on June 26, 1929 in Winona, MN. \r\nShe was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Mildred was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her children and in her later years tended to her plants and canaries that she always named Pete.\r\nSurvivors include two sons, Bob (Marilyn) of Salem , OR, and Don (Joyce) of Fort Wayne, IN; three daughters, Evelyn "Sis" (DeWayne) Siler of Cheyenne, WY, Ilene "Tootie" (Don) Fletty, and Delores "Mitzy" Redman (Jack Schneider) all of Eau Claire; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis (Mark Weiss) of Eau Claire, Jane Peterson of Bloomer; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Johnson of Chippewa Falls and Emma Redmond of Fall Creek.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband George in 1995; a grand daughter, Kelly Fletty Ozolins; her parents; three brothers, Clarence, Glen and Bill; and four sisters, Vivian, Lucille, Dorothy and Evelyn.\r\nMildred will be remembered by her family and friends as a very generous, kind, thoughtful and loving person. Even in her final years when Alzheimer's took her back into her past, she never lost her kind heart. She said she always wanted to "go home" and God finally took her home. She will always be loved and will be greatly missed by all.\r\nFuneral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 14th at Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd, with Pastor Paul D.L. Oppedahl officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Seymour. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
