Mildred "Millie" E. Thalacker, 89, of Grace Barstow Apartments, Eau Claire died Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Dove Healthcare and Rehabilitation.\r\nShe was born in Eau Claire on September 3, 1917, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Solberg) Thalacker.\r\nShe graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1934.\r\nMillie worked many years as an executive secretary for E.M. Hale, a book publishing company until her retirement.\r\nShe was an active life long member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. In fact, she was the last remaining charter member. Millie was also a member of "Zonta", a group of professional women. In addition, she also was a member of the National Secretaries Association, and the Center of Care (now Dove Healthcare) support group.\r\nMillie is survived by her cousins, eight god children, and many dear friends.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother, Viola Thalacker.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Carlton Kangas officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Eau Claire. Visitation will be held from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at church.\r\nMemorials are preferred to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 601 Fall St., Eau Claire, WI 54703.
