Minnie S. Thoen, 89, formerly of 818 Water St., went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Dove Healthcare. She was born on June 14, 1913, in Milton, in Cavalier County, ND, to Carl and Olga (Axelson) Edmundson. She married Arthur Thoen on May 5, 1953 at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was employed as a housekeeper for family residence's and was a baker at Syverson Lutheran Home.\r\nShe was a member of Grace Lutheran church where she was a member of Women of Grace, served with the World Relief Unit and taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #53.\r\nSurvivors include a foster daughter, Kathleen Smith; sister, Theola Sands; brother-in law, Kenneth Thoen, all of Eau Claire; a sister-in-law, Ruth Guldseth of Moorehead, MN; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur, in 2000; three sisters, Mary Franson, Selma "Sally" Franson and Lillian Nelson; a brother, Orville Edmundson; a sister-in-law, Inga Thoen; three brothers-in-law, Gilman Nelson, Orwin Sands, and Albert Franson; a niece, Judy Pecha; and a nephew, Richard Franson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\nMinnie's family extends their thanks for the loving care provided by the staff at Dove Healthcare.
