Miriam J. Robertson, 82, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, March 28, 2013. Miriam, a daughter of Newell and Mary (Comerford) Hunt, was born in Chippewa Falls, WI, on May 23, 1930. She was the third in their family of three girls and two boys. Raised in Eau Claire, Miriam was a 1948 graduate of St. Patrick's High School. In 1949, Miriam married Victor Grosvold. Together they raised a family of two boys and three girls. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Imm; grandson, Matthew Schwoch; her parents; a brother, Bob Hunt; two sisters, Pat Werlein and JoAnne Fesenmaier. She is survived by four children, Michael (Jane) Grosvold of Holcombe, Janet (Dave) Oliver of Eau Claire, Jeff (Kathy) Grosvold of Eau Claire, and Mary (Chuck) Hommen of Somerset; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Sally) Hunt of Chula Vista, CA; sister, Judy LaBelle of Altoona; and brother-in-law, Bob Fesenmaier of Lake Geneva, WI. In 1978, Miriam was married to LaMoine Robertson. From her second family, she is survived by step-son, Dave (Mary) Robertson; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two step-sons; Steve and Mark Robertson. Miriam had many interests and pastimes. She kept her family well stocked with hand-knit mittens, hats and afghans. Her ceramic pieces have graced many of our lawns, gardens and knick knack shelves. She enjoyed travel, especially her annual trips to Texas with LaMoine. She volunteered many hours to Meals-On-Wheels and other worthy causes. She was very proud of overcoming a life long fear of the water by learning to swim at the YMCA in her 50's. Music played a large part in her life. She enjoyed playing the organ and, along with LaMoine, singing in various church and community choirs. She was an accomplished square dancer and line dancer. Miriam and LaMoine shared a love for each other that was truly special. LaMoine dedicated 100% of his life to Miriam. LaMoine's boundless devotion to Miriam made it possible for her to stay with him in their home far longer than most thought would be possible. She was his everything. Miriam was a member of First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire where funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, with Pastors Michael Rehak and Lowell Halvorson officiating.
