Obituary

Miriam Jane Samuelson, 86, of Eau Claire, died Monday, December 6, 2004, at Luther Hospital. She was born August 22, 1918, in Eau Claire County, the daughter of Frank and Netta Jane (LeBarron) Mickelson. She attended and graduated from Eau Claire High School.\r\nMiriam married Dewey Samuelson in 1938. \r\nShe worked many years as the Bookkeeper at Eau Claire Book Bindery. Miriam was a kind lady. She took in her younger sister, Bette, and guided her in finding work.\r\nMiriam and her sisters created "The Singing Mickelson Sister's" group which performed in Eau Claire and locally on the radio in the late 1930's.\r\nMiriam was a member of Plymouth United Church of Christ since 1961.\r\nSurvivors include a step-son, Dewey Grant Samuelson; a step-daughter, Andrea Woodridge; her sister, June Severson of Hesperia, CA; two nieces, Lynnette Brink of Fort Wayne, IN, and Stephanie Fling of Daggett, CA; three nephews, Gale Kingsley of Sunbury, OH, Robert Boetzer of Madison, and Tom Severson of Saugus, CA; and a great nephew, Samuel Davies Kingsley of Sunbury, OH.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dewey in 1982; two sisters, Madelyn Boetzer, and Maybeth "Bette" Kingsley; and an infant brother. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with the Rev. David Huber officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
