Morris "Morrie" G. Cramer, 87, of Eau Claire died Monday, August 10, 2009, at Syverson Lutheran Home. \r\nHe was born November 5, 1921, in Eau Claire to George and Minnie (Wollum) Cramer. \r\nMorrie married Erma L. Tompkins on December 5, 1943 in Eau Claire. \r\nHe served in the Pacific Theatre in the U. S. Navy during World War II aboard a number of ships including the U.S.S. Bristol of which he survived the sinking.\r\nMorrie worked over 33 years at Uniroyal Tire Company, retiring as Superintendent of Maintenance in 1981.\r\nHe was a member of George B. Wheeler Lodge #351 F&AM, the Golden "K" Kiwanis Club in Eau Claire, and a life member of VFW Post #305.\r\nMorrie enjoyed numerous hunting and fishing trips with family and friends. He was known as "Mr. Fix it" by many.\r\nMorrie is survived by his wife, Erma; four children, Bonnie (Glenn) Warren of Sandpoint, ID, Roger (Terri) of Smithfield, Virginia, Dave (Cindy) and Ron (Cheryl) both of Eau Claire; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne (Joanne) Cramer, Elger Cramer and Gerald (Joanne) Cramer all of Eau Claire; two sisters, Kay (Alvin) Spindler of Brooklyn Park, MN and Janet (Bobby) Kopp of Eau Claire; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Cramer of Imperial Beach, CA, and Susan Cramer of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, LaVern and Curtis; and his nephew, Tim Cramer.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2009 at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Pastor Nathan Aaseng officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery, Town of Washington where VFW Post #305 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
