Obituary

Myra "Kay" Benjamin, 77, of Eau Claire died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was born October 12, 1926 in Perkinston, MS, the daughter of Robert and Lois (Davis) Lyons.\r\nKay married Robert D. Benjamin on March 31, 1945, in Wiggins, Mississippi. They later moved to Eau Claire until their retirement and then moved to Cable, WI.\r\nShe worked as a bookkeeper for C.R. Stocks from 1959 to 1982.\r\nKay was a member of Altoona United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens and Dance Club.\r\nShe was a talented knitter and literally warmed the heart of all that loved her with knitted gifts. She also loved to fish and cook.\r\nSurvivors include her two daughters, Linda (Mickey) Larson of Rothschild and Sue Zuech of Eau Claire; grand-daughter, Paula (Eric) Ryan of Kansas City, MO; great grandson, Devan of Kansas City, MO.; brother, Ellis Lyons of Louisiana; sister-in-law, Margie (Raymond) Johnson of Eau Claire; and special friends, Gerrie Rath and Vernie Hays; many nieces and nephews.\r\nKay was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2000; her parents; her sister, Clara Nell Burkhart; and her brother, William W. Lyons.\r\nMemorial services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Aurand officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
