Obituary

Myrtle E. Phillips, 96, formerly of 424 Platt St., Eau Claire, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at American Lutheran Home in Menomonie. She was born on September 9, 1905 in Menomonie, Wisconsin to Ever and Mary (Berseth) Aune.\r\nMyrtle married David S. Phillips in Decorah, Iowa on November 19, 1940. She was employed at National Presto Industries for 25 years, retiring in 1970.\r\nShe was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and it's Friendship Club.\r\nSurvivors include a sister, Marjorie Kraft of Menomonie; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David in 1975; three brothers, Carl, Peter, and Arthur Aune; four sisters, Alma Hillman, Sophie Marine, Carrie Mackmer and Helen Halvorson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2002 at Grace Lutheran Church Chapel, Eau Claire with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.\r\nMemorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.
