Obituary

Myrtle R. Zunker, 96, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on January 18, 1907 in Dallas, WI, the daughter of Oscar and Amanda (Kringle) Borgen. Myrtle graduated from Barron High School and later graduated from Hunt's Business College. Myrtle married Herbert H. Zunker on April 21, 1934 in Dallas, WI.\r\nShe was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of its church groups, afternoon ladies aide, Rachel circle, altar guild, and Senior Club. She was also a member of D&S Club.\r\nSurvivors include her husband, Herbert; two children, Herbert (Sharon) Zunker of Shoreview, MN and Marilyn (Ken) Stetzer of Eau Claire; three grandchildren, Angela (Doug) Howe of Chanhassen, MN, Bradley W. Zunker of Shoreview, MN, MacKenzie R. Stetzer of Seattle, WA; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Clint Howe and Jon Bradley Howe; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by a son, Harold Eugene Zunker; parents, Oscar and Amanda Borgen; three brothers, Elmer, George and Francis Borgen; and sister, Blanche Borgen.\r\nMemorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel A. Hoelter officiating. Burial will be in Dallas Cemetery, Dallas, WI. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family.\r\nHer family requests memorials be directed to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
