NELLIE I. BELDEN, 85, of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2001 at Luther Hospital. She was born in Eau Claire on April 25, 1916 to James and Sylvia (Garton) Burgess. Nellie married Arnold Belden in Eau Claire on October 25, 1936 where she lived most of her life. She worked at Silver Spring Gardens and then in housekeeping for many years at Mt. Washington Residence, until her retirement in 1979. She enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and always seemed to have one in progress. Nellie was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family. \r\nSurvivors include two sons, DuWayne (Marcia) Belden of Birchwood and Raymond (Sally) Belden of Eau Claire; two daughters, Yvonne (Dean) Gregory of Birchwood and formerly of Spring Valley, and Sandra (David) Colby of Eau Claire; her sister, Dorothy Bell of Ingleside, TX; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold in 1985; daughter, Arlene; son, David; her parents; a sister, Betty Newman; and two brothers, James and Lloyd Burgess.\r\nFuneral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at Grace Lutheran Church Chapel with Pastor Lowell Bolstad officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
