Obituary

Noble John Lokken, 73, of Eau Claire, met his Savior Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System. He was born March 24, 1943, in Baldwin, WI, son of Dorothy (Harry) Valaski and Noble (Myrtle) Lokken, and was raised by foster parents, Mike and Ann Fonfara. He graduated from Regis High School in 1961, and worked at Wood Motors, detailing cars, and at Valley Builders. Noble then entered the U.S. Air Force in 1964, and served as a weather observer until his honorable discharge in 1968. Noble married Dianne (Blaeser) at Immaculate Conception Parish in Eau Claire, on November 13, 1965. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Noble was employed as a tire builder at Uniroyal in Eau Claire from 1968 until the plant closed in 1992. He then transferred to Ft. Wayne, IN, to fulfill his retirement in March of 1998. He was a long time member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church. His faith was very important to him. Noble treasured spending time with his family. He liked to travel and was fortunate enough to enjoy numerous trips to Ireland. He spent quite a bit of time outdoors, keeping up the lawn, and enjoying nature. Noble was an avid reader and a history buff. He also had a love for music. Noble is survived by his wife, Dianne; his three daughters, Julie (Charles) Fitch of Fall Creek, Jennifer (Matt Smith) Lokken, and Jill (Michael Clark) Lokken all of Eau Claire; three grandchildren, Jayden and Jenna Fitch, and Juno Clark; one sister, Mary (Bob) Phelps of Marysville, WA; a niece Melissa (Clayton) St. George of Lake Elmo, MN; one nephew Joseph Phelps of WA, and numerous in-laws. Noble is preceded in death by his son, John, in 2000; his parents and foster parents; his father and mother-in-law Cliff and Vadne Blaeser; and a nephew, Rick Holte. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St. in Eau Claire with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Burial, with military rites conducted by VFW Post 305, will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire, following the Mass. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. o'clock, and one hour prior to Mass Friday at the church. A public prayer service will be held Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
