Norma Elaine Linn, 90, of Eau Claire, died Monday, March 10, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire. Norma was born on August 6, 1934, to Robert and Gladys (Reck) Schultz in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She graduated from Central High School in La Crosse in 1952. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from La Crosse State Teachers College in 1956. Norma began her teaching career in Eau Claire in 1956 and taught until 1961. She also worked part-time at Royal Credit Union from 1980-2000. In 1956, Norma met her late husband, Richard W. Linn, when they were both new teachers in Eau Claire. They married on June 20, 1959. During her life, she was involved in Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, PTA, volunteering at the Syverson Home Gift Shop, teaching Sunday School, and singing in the Grace Lutheran Choir. Much of her spare time was spent making quilts and sweaters for Lutheran World Relief, knitting baby caps for Luther Hospital, and knitting items for her family. Norma and her husband walked regularly at the mall with friends. She enjoyed playing cards, entertaining guests in her home, reading, and spending quiet evenings around a fire. Norma is survived by her son, Bruce (Jenny) Linn of Excelsior, MN; daughter, Jennifer Elaine Linn of Bloomington, MN; granddaughter, Maria (Isaac Evans) Linn-Evans of St. Paul, MN; and grandson, Jason Linn of St. Paul, MN. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, eight brothers, one sister, and three sisters-in-laws. She lived the last five years of her life at Orchard Hills Assisted Living, and her family thanks the staff for all their support and care.
