Norma M. "Min Roach" Severson, 89, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at her residence, from Alzheimer's, with her husband, Jim, by her side. Norma was born on December 19, 1924, in Grass Creek, WY, a daughter of Albert and Mildred (Jacobs) Roach. She attended and graduated from St. Patrick's High School with the Class of 1942. After high school, Norma went to work in the shipyards in Seattle, WA. Norma married James Severson in Eau Claire. Norma was an avid outdoors woman, enjoying hunting and fishing. She was a founding member of the Wisconsin Hunters Safety Program, where she assisted in instructing over 3500 students in the hunter safety program, as well as a founding member of the Flying Eagles Ski Club. Norma is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter, Fran (Joseph Sr.) Novak of Richfield, MN; grandson, Joseph Jr. (Barbara) Novak of Shakopee, MN; two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Ryan Novak; three sisters, Lorraine Ketterer of Romona, CA, Darlene (Dick) Rafferty of Menomonee Falls, WI, and Ruth Bridges of Eau Claire; and two brothers, Jerry (Muriel) Roach of Salmon, ID, and A. Tom Roach of Eau Claire. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James A. Roach. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire, with Father Alan Guanella officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the WEST CHAPEL. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire.
