Obituary

O. WAYNE WINGER, 85, of 2653 113th St., Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, July 23, 1998 at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home. He was born on April 26, 1913 in Eau Claire to Oscar and Anna (Johnson) Winger. Wayne graduated from Eau Claire Sr. High School with the Class of 1931. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II in the Pacific Theater \r\nWayne married Margaret E. Anderson on September 1, 1953 in Stillwater, Minn.\r\nHe was an electrician with various contractors and then at Uniroyal for 16 years until his retirement in 1975.\r\nHe was a member of Sanctuary Lodge #347 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Eau Claire, and Zor Temple Shrine of Madison; a member of VFW Post #305 and American Legion Post # 53, all of Eau Claire; Moose Lodge #246 and Eagles Club #2213 both of Chippewa Falls and a member of the Lake Hallie Sportsman Club.\r\nSurvivors include his wife of forty-five years, Margaret; two brothers, Lincoln (Margaret) of Tucson, AZ, and Clarence (Drusilla) of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Kenneth Wolf and William Kovak.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Vernon; and a sister, Betty Lois Heffler.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert E. Esse officiating. Burial will be in Big Elk Creek Cemetery, town of Wheaton, Chippewa County. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday (Today) at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home, Eau Claire. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
