Olaf "Ole" Amundson, 92, of Eau Claire died Sunday, January 23, 2005, at Luther Hospital. Ole was born in Blair on January 1, 1913, the son of Martin and Thea (Paulson) Amundson. Olaf married Dorothy Koch in Milwaukee in 1947.\r\nBefore retiring in 1970, Ole worked as a sheet metal worker for Allis Chalmers in Milwaukee. After retirement, Ole and Dorothy moved to Roberts Lake, Wabeno where they enjoyed fishing and friends. Later, they moved to Mole Lake area of Crandon where they enjoyed life until Dorothy passed away. The last six years, Ole has spent in Eau Claire where he has especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.\r\nHe is survived by his son, Bob (Judy) of Eau Claire; his daughters, Joanie (Dave) Ibinger of Hot Springs Village, AR and Karen (Bill) Malinka of Albuquerque, NM; six grandchildren, Jeff (Patti) Ibinger of Farmington, MN, Nancy (Butch) Rosentrater of Fall Creek, Julie (Ed) Thomas of Camas, WA, Lisa Hanson of Eau Claire, Jim (Tracey) Ibinger of North Branch, MN, and Sara (Brent) Mattox of Janesville; and sixteen great-grandchildren, Andy, Jessie, Josh, Kayla, Collin, Nicholas, Spencer, Reagan, Addison, Zoe, Tori, Ashley, Jake, Derek, Ryan, Lauren, and as Ole would want listed-his adopted great-granddaughter from Iceland, Disa Gardarsdottir, a foreign exchange student of granddaughter, Nancy (Butch) Rosentrater during 2000 and 2001. Ole is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Dorothy; three brothers, Omer (Evelyn), Alvin (Ida), and Goodwin (Viola); sisters, Bess (Earl) Elliot, Marie (Otto) Rathman and Jean (Tommy) Glenna.\r\nFuneral services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2005, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Fehr officiating. Private burial will be in Arlington Park Cemetery, Greenfield, on Friday. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.\r\n
