Obituary

OLIVE C. DURST, 88, of 816 Porter Ave. and formerly of 3304 Sundet Road, Eau Claire died Thursday, February 15, 2001 at Luther Hospital. She was born in Roundup, Montana on April 6, 1912 to Martin and Ella (Peterson) Severson. Her family moved to Urne, Wisconsin in 1913. \r\nOlive married Willis Durst on December 27, 1945 at Grace Lutheran Church.\r\nShe was a member of Lyster Lutheran Church in Urne where she served for several years as church organist. At Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, Olive was very proud to have been able to teach Sunday School for over 50 years until spring, 1993, and play the organ for children's services.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters, Ellen Snowdon of Madison and Karen (Alfred) Hanson of Arcadia; two grandchildren, Jens and Marit Hanson of Arcadia; three sisters, Idell McDonough of Long Beach, CA, Maye (Donald) Ruf of Rockwell, TX, and Carol (Carl) Bartosh of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews;\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Willis in 1985; two brothers, James and Kenneth Severson; and an infant sister, Agnes Elizabeth Severson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2001 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastors Lowell Bolstad and Andrew Boe officiating. Burial will be this spring in Lyster Lutheran Cemetery, Nelson Township near Urne. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.\r\nMemorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church Sunday school or to Lyster Lutheran Church in Urne. \r\n
