Onita M. Jorgensen, age 96, of Eau Claire died peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at the Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire. Onita was born to Bettus and Pauline (Dietz) Siems on June 16, 1916, in Snyder, NE. She married Clifford H. Jorgensen on April 15, 1937. During the early years of their marriage Onita and Cliff lived in several locations including El Cerrito CA, Eugene OR, and Uehling NE. In 1951, Onita and her family moved to Eau Claire where they lived for many years. Onita and Cliff devoted their life to caring for their family and they had their hands full raising four boys. Onita worked for the Eau Claire Area School District for 26 years as a lunch program cook until 1988, when she retired and was very proud of her service to the community. Onita is survived by her sons, Dan (Peace) of Danville CA, Keith (Carol) of Eau Claire, and Jerry (Karen) of Eau Claire; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; son, Dennis; grandson, Dan; and four brothers. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012, in the Meta A. Trebus Memorial Chapel at the Syverson Lutheran Home, 816 Porter Ave., Eau Claire with Pastor Debra Boynton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
