Oral R. Kramer, 102, of Eau Claire died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was born March 17, 1905 to Martin and Alma (Krause) Sylte in the Town of Sand Creek, WI.\r\nOral married George F. Kramer on October 26, 1928 in LaCrescent, MN. \r\nOral worked for several years as a waitress at the Eau Claire Hotel serving special evening and noontime events.\r\nGeorge and Oral lived in Eau Claire through the years until George's retirement in 1972 and then began wintering in Harlingen, TX.\r\nThrough the years Oral was an active member at Grace Lutheran Church where she was active in women's circle groups. During wartimes, Oral volunteered for the Red Cross folding bandages and preparing other materials. She was active in the CVTC Homemakers, Northland Campers Group of Eau Claire, and the United Rubber Workers Auxiliary. \r\nSurvivors include two daughters, Gerry (Jerome) Reiter and Jeanne "Vonnie" Johnson, both of Eau Claire; a sister, Jewel Myers of Eau Claire; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George, in 1991; two brothers, Edmund and Ervin Sylte; four sisters, Bessie Meyers, Eva Toy, Eleanor Jennings, and Lorraine Macrae; and a half-sister, Virginia Pond.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2007 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Rev. Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
