Orlaine E. Salter, 85, of Eau Claire went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 11, 2007, at her daughter's home in Eau Claire. She was born on January 8, 1922, in Cobban, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ole and Betsey (Aune) Gunderson.\r\nOrlaine married Elliott W. Salter on July 1, 1943, in San Luis Obispo, CA.\r\nShe was, first and foremost, a super Mom and homemaker. Mom worked at National Presto Industries during World War II and Vietnam as an inspector. Orlaine also worked at Woolworth's and sold her wonderful lefse to the former Co-op.\r\nShe was longtime active member of her church, serving on the service commission, and enjoyed working with her friends at the church bazaar, and pie and ice cream socials. "How did they ever get anything done with all their laughter?"\r\nOrlaine is survived by her four children, Ron (Charlene) of Danville, IL, Barb (Steve) Eklund of West Bend, and Cheryl (John) Strand and Douglas (Nancy) both of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren: Greg Salter, Fort Charlotte, Florida; Kim (Ken) Verhoeven, Danville, IL; Lisa (Mark) Mezera, West Bend; Christina Strand and Jon (Julia) Strand, Eau Claire and Audrey and Andrew Salter, Eau Claire; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Shirley Salter, Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott in 1990; a daughter, Audrey in 1949; five brothers, Ben, Gunder, Nels, Melvin and George Gunderson; three sisters, Ragna Sippel, Bernice Anderson and infant, Myrtle.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, with the Rev. David Huber officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\nFamily requests that memorials be directed to Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, 2010 Moholt Drive, Eau Claire, WI 54703-5118.\r\n"We will miss your beautiful eyes and smile, loving hugs, pocketful of kisses, and, Oh that laugh."
