Obituary

ORRA MAE VOLD, age 92, formerly of Whipple St., passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 1997 at M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born July 8, 1905 to Ormal and Orra (Woodford) Bollom in Osseo. Orra married Hjalmer Vold on June 1, 1926 in Waukon,Iowa. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church throughout her life, involved in many of its programs, including teaching, serving as a bible study leader, and was a member of Deborah circle. Orra was employed at Presto Industries during World War II, and then worked over twenty years at Jensen's Drug Store until her retirement in 1971.\r\nOrra was a loving mother, and played an important role in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never strayed from her values of pleasing God and loving family. She loved to travel and always had fond memories of her trips to Europe with Pastor Midthun's groups. Orra treasured her many friends and the good times they had together. . She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Charlotte) Vold, of Eau Claire, John (Sandy) Vold of Green Valley, AZ; a daughter, Janice (Ade) Washburn of Eau Claire; eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren; a step-brother, Frank (Emma) Bollom of Chippewa Falls; a step-sister, Eunice (Lester) Dodge of Bloomer; many nieces, nephews and cousins.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband; two step-brothers, James and Leonard Bollom, and a step-sister, Dorothy Varga.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 A.M., Thursday, at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. \r\nFriends may call 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\nThe family suggests memorials be directed to Grace Lutheran Church Library or the Syverson Home Patio Fund.
