ORVILLE EDGAR ONSTINE, 77, 2105 Providence Ct., passed away Wednesday, September 9, 1998 at his home. He was born June 6, 1921 in Eau Claire to Albert and Helena (Nelson) Onstine. \r\nOrville graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1939. \r\nHe served in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge in 1946. \r\nHe married Arlene Wolfe on August 11, 1951 in Stillwater, MN. They moved to Milwaukee in 1955.\r\nOrville worked twenty-five years for the U.S. Postal Service in Milwaukee until he retired in 1983. He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. In 1993 Orville and Arlene moved back to Eau Claire and became members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.\r\nHe is survived by his wife, Arlene; his six children, Beverly (Ernest) Petrowsky of Racine, WI, Carol Hohndorf of Eau Claire, Steven (Joan) Onstine of Eau Claire, Diane (Doug) Lau of West Bend, Kenneth (Deb) Onstine of Milwaukee, and Janet (Dwayne) Knollenberg of West Bend; 19 grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nOrville was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and Wisconsin Badgers. He often had something interesting or a humorous story to share. He taught us to live with faith, patience, and kindness, and will be deeply missed.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Pastor Joseph Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
