Obituary

OSCAR "BILL" W. LOVVIK, age 85, of 806 Dodge St., was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born September 29, 1913 in Cloquet,MN, to Hilmar and Anna (Stai) Lovvik. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Eau Claire, where he resided the rest of his life. Bill married Pearl B. Johnson in Eau Claire on December 30, 1939. He worked 39 years at Uniroyal until his retirement in 1975. \r\nHe was a member of the Chippewa Valley Gem and Mineral Society, Eau Claire Lodge #112 F&AM, and Our Saviors Lutheran Church.\r\nBill and Pearl enjoyed traveling throughout their marriage, and their children remember back on time spent together on family trips and their many memories at the lake cabin.\r\nSurvivors include his wife of 59 years, Pearl; a son, Daryl (Sherly) of the Philippines; two daughters, Sandra (George) Novak of Foxboro,WI, and Rhonna (John) Potter of Clearfield,KY; seven grandchildren, a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold; two sisters, Lillian Placek and Sigrid Blackseth; and an infant granddaughter, Victoria Averyl Lovvik.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the town of Washington. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
