Ovidia C. Haldorson, 101, of Eau Claire, died on Friday, November 21, 2014, at Syverson Lutheran Home under the care of Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice. Ovidia was born on June 6, 1913, in Portland, North Dakota to Odin and Betsy (Kverner) Knudson, the oldest of 7 siblings. In 1935, she moved to Wisconsin and did domestic work and worked at Samuelson's Department Store for 20 years making drapes. She retired at age 70. In 1938, she married Andrew Haldorson. He passed away in 1987. Ovidia is survived by her son, Roger (Mary) Haldorson of Eau Claire; grandson, Paul; step-grandchildren, Lori, Dwayne, and Kevin Jennings and Mike, Mark, and Jason Tweet; step-great-grandchildren, Rochelle Jennings, Katie, Jake, Joe, Alina, Lars, and Gavin Tweet. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; sister, Rhoda Peterson; and brothers, Oscar and Abner Knudson, Marvel, Jennings, and LeRoy Guttormson; and daughter-in-law, Louise Haldorson. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1310 Main St. in Eau Claire, with Pastor Gail George officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Memorials are preferred to Syverson Lutheran Home.
