Obituary

Palma Helmina Petrich, 88, of Altoona died Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at Luther Hospital. She was born June 27, 1915, in Dunn County, the daughter of Otto and Anna (Anderson) Mickelson. She attended Dunn County Normal School graduating in 1934.\r\nPalma married Lloyd R. Petrich on March 6, 1976 in Altoona.\r\nIn 1942, Palma and two of her sisters, Alice and Margaret opened the Three Sisters Restaurant in Menomonie. She also operated a restaurant in Boyceville and the Depot Restaurant in Eau Claire. \r\nShe was a member of Altoona United Methodist Church. \r\nPalma had been a resident at Oakwood Villa since September 2002.\r\nSurvivors include three sisters, Joan (Richard) Albricht of Eau Claire, Alice Kershner of Osseo and Donna Ishii of Menomonie; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Mickelson and Joan Greeley both of Menomonie; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, in 1979; her parents; three brothers, Juel, Elmer and Merlin Mickelson; and two sisters, Margaret Schultz and Shirley Anderson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2003 at Altoona United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Aurand officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family.\r\nMemorials may be directed to the Night Circle at Altoona United Methodist Church, 448 1st St. W., Altoona, WI 54720 or World Vision.
