Pamela Anne Christopher, age 61, of Eau Claire, died peacefully Sunday morning, January 6, 2008, at Sacred Heart Hospital with her loving husband and children by her side. \r\nPam was born May 12, 1946 in Murfreesboro, TN, to Orville and Helen (Doughten) Martin. Due to her father's Air Force career, she traveled much of the country with her parents, sisters and brother; settling in the late 1950's in bustling Southern California. \r\nOn August 6, 1968 Pam was blessed in marriage to her beloved husband Robert "Bob" Christopher in Orange County, California. In 1974, Bob and Pam moved with their children to Eau Claire where her love of seasonal variety made western Wisconsin her permanent home.\r\nPam spent many years leading Property Management for Larson Companies and later lent her talents to Landmark Companies and the local Alzheimer's Association in management roles. \r\nPam sought to give back to the community she so enjoyed. She believed in the need of a strong downtown for Eau Claire and served both as chair and board member of the Downtown Business Improvement District, and served on the board of the Eau Claire Main Street Association. She was both a member and chair to the Eau Claire City Plan Commission, and also worked with the Westside Transportation Study and the Eau Claire Comprehensive Plan. Additionally, Pam was the Charter President of the downtown Noon Optimist club and past President of the Clear Water Kiwanis Eau Claire.\r\nPam was both a teacher and superintendent of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd's Sunday School program. She also served as the Treasurer of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Women (GSLW) organization, and enjoyed leading the church's Living Art Tableau hair and make-up team.\r\nPam is greatly missed by her husband of 39 years, Bob; two sons, Martin (David Landre) of Madison, and Bob Jr. (Jeni) of Anoka, Minnesota; her daughter, Erin (Robert) Gee of Middleton; seven adoring grandchildren, Christopher and Katelyn Gee, Alina, Sarah, and Robert W. Christopher, and Jarett and Delaney Smith; two sisters, Paula (Jeff) Williams of California, Patty (Don) Hunt of Arizona; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Louis and Judy Christopher of Stanley, Jerry and Char Christopher of Arizona, Donald and Edna Christopher of Eau Claire, and Cheryl Schoettl of Chetek; numerous nieces and nephews, and many very special friends.\r\nShe is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jim Martin; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gaige and Sarah Christopher; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Schoettl.\r\nFuneral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd on 1120 Cedar St. in Eau Claire with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn funeral home in Eau Claire and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.\r\nThe family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Pam's name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin, 13195 West Hampton Ave., Butler, WI 53007.\r\n
