IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia M.
Holstein
February 28, 1939 – September 30, 2025
Patricia Mable Holstein passed away peacefully on Sept. 30, 2025, surrounded by family at her home in Eau Claire. She was 86 years young.
Patricia was born on Feb. 28, 1939, in Eau Claire. Her parents were Alvina and LaMoine Bunce. She graduated from Eau Claire High School and married her high school sweetheart, Gary Holstein, in 1957. They enjoyed 68 wonderful years together and had three children. Patricia was a working mother, busy with both the raising of her children and administering the couple's successful apartment rental business.
A beautiful person inside and out, Patricia was kind, compassionate and considerate of others. Her passion was her family and spending time with her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Patricia enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, Gary, and took several family vacations to Mexico and Aruba. She loved a good walk, a good laugh and entertaining family and friends.
Patricia was a delightful, bright, shiny light that made the world a better place, and she saw the best in other people regardless of race or religion. She could also be tough, as evidenced by her tireless work ethic, her long and courageous battle with ALS, and her perseverance after the death of her daughter, Janeen, at the early age of 33. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Patricia is survived by her husband Gary; her sons Gregory (Victoria) and Jeffery (Jody); her granddaughters Nichole Ramalingam (Ravi), Shari Weinstein (Drew), Natasha Gomez (Brian), Kaitlin Christ (Brian), Janessa Holstein and Madelyn Brown; her great-grandchildren Charlotte and Lucas Ramalingam, Nova and Ori Weinstein, Cannon and Bishop Gomez, and Rudy and Olivia Christ; her brother Gary Bunce; and her sister Cheryl Mattison. She was preceded in death by her daughter Janeen Holstein, her parents Alvina and LaMoine Bunce, and her dear grandmother Elfreida Pehlke.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire (1804 Highland Ave.). Visitation will start at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral service at Rest Haven Cemetery in Eau Claire (5750 Old Town Hall Road). The family requests any donations be made to the ALS Association in lieu of flowers or family contributions.
