Patricia Louise Kuehl, 85, departed us on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Patricia was born in Eau Claire, on September 25, 1926, at Luther Hospital, a daughter of Edward and Lydia (Marten) Kuehl. Patricia graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1943. She attended Carleton College in Northfield, MN, graduating with a degree in History and minor in Music, in 1950. Patricia worked until 1984 for Wisconsin Bell before it became AT&T, rising to the position of office manager, where she managed the downtown business office of the local telephone company, until her retirement in 1984. Patricia gave generously of her time to her many friends and also to many local organizations, especially Grace Lutheran Church, The Syverson Home, and the Chippewa Valley Museum, as well as serving as a docent at the Schlegelmilch House. Long-time Eau Claire residents may remember seeing Pat and her sister playing in the lobby of the old Commercial Hotel on Barstow St., which was operated by their parents. Patricia lives on in the hearts of her family: sister, JoAnne (Ronald) Allen of Sun Prairie, WI; nephew, John Allen of Tucson, AZ, and his family, Connie Beck and Gabrielle Allenbeck, and nephew, David Allen of Kingwood, TX and his family, Sheela, Emily, Wil, and Josh Allen. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, David Kuehl, killed in action in the Air Force during WWII in 1945. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 W. Grand Ave. in Eau Claire, with Pastor David Irgens officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Sunday at the church. Burial will take place in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Grace Lutheran Church.
