Obituary

Patricia "Patty" Plude (Hartnett)

Patricia (Patty) Plude (Hartnett) passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, in Altoona, Wisconsin. She was born on June 17, 1955, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to William and Frances (Murphy) Hartnett.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband, John Plude, and her parents. She is survived by her three children, whom she cherished: daughter Michelle Cebula (Plude), Kim Kadiyala and her husband Saagar, and son Kevin Plude and his partner Nichole Kinateder. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to her granddaughter, Mira Kadiyala. She is also survived by her brother,William (Bill) Hartnett, and sister-in-law Dianne Kessler-Hartnett, along with many other relatives and friends.

Patty was especially excited to become a "NaNa" when Mira was born, and embraced every opportunity to share stories and photos of her family. She was an avid crafter and quilter, loved cooking and baking, and enjoyed music and animals. An enthusiastic Green Bay Packers, Badgers football, and Milwaukee Brewers fan, she never missed a chance to cheer (or voice her colorful commentary when the team was "being stupid").

For many years, Patty served as head cook at an elementary school, where she was known for making special treats like whoopie pies that brought smiles to students and staff. Helping others came naturally to Patty, and she carried that kindness with her throughout her life. At Oakwood Health Services, where she resided for the past six years, she often welcomed new residents, explained mealtime and activity schedules, and passed out silverware sets before meals.

Patty loved her outings with her daughter Michelle, including trips to parks, festivals, the sculpture tour, Michelle's choir concerts, and going out for pizza, her favorite food.

Her family is deeply grateful to the staff and volunteers at Oakwood Health Services for the kindness, care, and love they offered Patty throughout her time there.
