Patrick "Pat" G. Devney, 71, of Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire surrounded by his family. Pat was born on July 9, 1940 in Eau Claire, a son of Donald and Marie (Clark) Devney. Pat married Barb Frederickson on November 2, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eau Claire. Together they raised their five daughters. Pat worked with his father and brother, Bob, in Devney Excavating and in 1966 formed Devney Construction Corp. His expertise in the grading and demolition areas of Eau Claire is well known. Pat was a member of Operating Engineers Local 139, through which he employed and worked with many members for 52 years. He was a past member of the Eau Claire Builders Exchange. Pat enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle and camping. Pat especially liked meeting and talking to people. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him. He is survived by his four daughters, AnnMarie (Lyle) Adleman of Eau Claire, Chris (Jeff) Bergeron of La Crosse, Vicki (Dennis) Hoffman of Eau Claire, and Rita Patrow of Eau Claire; one sister, Donna (Dave) Dahl of Lady Lake, FL; one sister - in law, Patricia Devney of Eau Claire; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Derick Devney -Yonkovich; daughter, Linda Devney; and brother, Bob Devney. A celebration of Pat`s life will held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral & Cremation Service, 814 First Avenue, Eau Claire. Following the celebration of Pat`s life graveside services will be held at 7:15 p.m. at St. Patrick`s Cemetery in Eau Claire with Deacon Bob Chittendon officiating.
