Obituary

Patrick E. Strand, 43, of Eau Claire died suddenly on Sunday, January 21, 2007, in Eau Claire.\r\nPatrick was born November 15, 1963, in Minneapolis, the youngest child of Henry O. and Betty Cooper Strand. He attended Eau Claire Memorial and UW-Eau Claire; he earned a degree in marketing from Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire and a degree in psychology from UW-Stout in Menomonie.\r\nHe was a member of the Singing Statesmen while at UW-Eau Claire and was a lifelong sports fanatic, a Vikings fan in (mostly) Packer territory and a regular at Old Abes and Blugold games. He loved music of all kinds but especially Terri Clark's country music. A frequent Mass attendee, he was a person of great spiritual faith and deep caring for others. Everyone seemed to know Patrick and everyone loved him. He was a gift to so many. Patrick is survived by six siblings, Marc (wife Lisa Reiman-Strand), Jon, Brian, Sheila, David, and Mary Strand (husband Tom Fraser); three nieces and five nephews, including godsons Nick Strand and Jack Strand; one grand-nephew; seven aunts and one uncle; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Strand; and infant twin siblings, Peter and Mary Jeanne Strand.\r\nMass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 418 N. Dewey St., Eau Claire, with Father Todd A. Mlsna and Deacon Larry J. Agema officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be at the church from 10-11 a.m. Friday. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving Patrick's family.\r\n
